The pioneer home high in the mountains of North Carolina, near Tuckaseegee, is the setting for "Carolina Haze."  Fir, hemlock, and spruce mingled with red bud line the background.  Forsythia adorns the limestone wall adjoining the rail fence.  The budding peach is nourished by the everflowing cool spring that provides water for the entire family, livestock and poultry.
