The old fence post, standing silently and majestically
in the new fallen snow is a familiar sight to rural Americans in the winter
months. Near Bridgeport, Alabama, this site is common to the farmers as
they patiently wait for spring. The quail in the foreground are not quite
as patient in their watch for spring as they seem to seek refuge under the tall
sage grass, knowing that their wait will be a long one.
